Accessibility

Our aim

Wadart should be usable whether you are on a phone, a laptop, a screen reader or a keyboard on its own. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA.

What we have done

• Every page uses proper headings, landmarks and lists so screen readers can navigate it, and there is a skip link to the main content.
• Every artwork image has a text description of what it is.
• The site works at any width from a small phone upwards, and text can be zoomed without the layout breaking.
• Colour is never the only way information is given: sold and available pieces are labelled in words as well as colour.
• All motion respects the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system.

Known limitations

• The studio wall and artwork pages fill in their detail with JavaScript once the page has loaded. The core content is in the page itself, so it still reads sensibly with JavaScript turned off, but the very latest prices and availability need JavaScript.
• The artwork is hung at slight angles by design. This is decorative only and does not affect the text, which stays upright.
• Artwork descriptions are written by the artist and vary in length.

If something here is hard to use, please say so on WhatsApp. Tell Ian what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and it will get fixed or he will find another way to get you what you need.
